Dear Futures Football Families,
We are proud to announce that Littleton High School will once again partner with the Denver Broncos Futures Football Program for the 2025 season! This exciting, free opportunity begins this spring, and I personally invite your current 7th and 8th-grade students to join us in building something truly special.
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, March 4, 2025
My name is Coach Mike Simmons, Head Football Coach at Littleton High School. I’ve lived in Colorado since 1972, graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora. My career began in 1981 with the Aurora Police Department, where I had a long and distinguished career until my retirement in 2013. I’ve been married to my incredible wife, Vicki, for over 30 years, and we are proud parents to our son, Jason, and our daughter, who has blessed us with three wonderful grandchildren.
I know that in the past, Littleton High School football has faced challenges, but I guarantee that with my passion and proven developmental program—which has successfully transformed teams at Lutheran High School and Deer Trail High School—we will restore the Littleton Lions’ proud tradition and create new opportunities for success.
My staff and I are honored to be part of the Denver Broncos Futures Football Program, where we are dedicated to helping young athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game they love. The Littleton High School Coaching Staff brings years of experience in identifying strengths and weaknesses in players. We firmly believe that every athlete has potential, and it is our job as coaches to nurture that talent and position them for success—both individually and as part of a team.
Our Developmental Football Program is a game-changer, emphasizing a grassroots, athlete-first approach. We focus on:
-
Building players from the ground up to help them achieve their full potential.
-
Developing fundamental skills and instilling confidence in young athletes.
-
Preparing athletes for success on and off the field through structured training, mentorship, and leadership development.
Beyond physical development, football fosters a strong team culture where every player belongs. Athletes become part of a supportive family, learning trust, leadership, and teamwork—qualities that will stay with them for life.
Additionally, football plays a critical role in academic success by:
-
Teaching responsibility, focus, and goal-setting—skills that translate directly to the classroom.
-
Helping athletes develop time management and self-discipline to balance academics and athletics.
-
Encouraging a culture of excellence, where players are held accountable and strive to succeed in all areas of life.
By creating a sustainable and competitive football program, we are setting these young athletes up for success—not just for this season, but for their future.
We would love to have as many students as possible take advantage of this incredible opportunity. Please help us spread the word and encourage participation before the deadline.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I look forward to working together to build something truly special for the Littleton community!
